Probate

Probate is the process of distributing assets after a person has died.  Asimou & Associates handles both uncontested probate and contested probate cases.

Asimou & Associates represents clients who are the personal representative (executor) of an estate in ensuring that the estate administration is properly managed and the assets of the estate appropriately distributed in accordance with the deceased person’s wishes.

Asimou & Associates also represents heirs of an estate to ensure that the personal representative is administering the estate in a proper manner, or to seek removal of a personal representative who is not managing the estate properly.

Asimou & Associates experience includes cases in which:

• The Personal Representative stole funds out of an estate and Asimou & Associates was hired to recover the funds and stolen property.
• The Personal Representative refused to give the beneficiaries information about the Estate and Asimou & Associates was hired to intervene in the probate to protect the beneficiary’s rights.
• An heir was suspicious that someone forged a Will and Asimou & Associates was able to prove the forgery and have the Will set aside.
• The Personal Representative was suspicious that a beneficiary of a Will exerted undue influence or coercion to convince the deceased person to sign a Will and Asimou & Associates proved the undue influence and had the offending person removed as a beneficiary of the estate.
